Alex Latuk's Obituary
Alex Latuk, 89, of Lake Placid, FL passed away July 7, 2011 at Lake Placid Health Care Center. He was born in Conneaut, OH and came to lake Placid in 1993 from Royal Palm Beach, FL. He retired as a supervisor of Jet Engine Parts with TRW in Euclid, OH and moved to FL in 1981. Alex served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the Minesweeper during WWII. His hobbies were bowling and golf, but he also enjoyed tinkering with car engines. He was of the Russian Orthodox faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Anna Latuk of Lake Placid, FL; four daughters: Karen (Scott) Forsyth of Lake Placid, FL; Evelyn Sprague of Okeechobee, FL, Alexandra Latuk of Middlefield, CT and Annie Schrader of Pt. St. Lucie, FL; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 12th from Noon to 1:00 PM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Father Michael Cannon of St. James Catholic Church, Lake Placid, FL will be officiating. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hope Hospice 4840 Sun-N-Lakes Blvd., Sebring, FL 33872 (800) 835-1673.
