Alan's faith was complete. He trusted the Lord in everything he did. He was always very kind to me and never said no when I asked hime to help me with my lawnmower or bicycle. He always greeted everyone with a smile. I was very glad to know him.

Alan was my neighbor here in Westhampton Beach. I'll never forget his gentle way of speaking, nor will I ever forget his unselfish willingness to help when I was involved with an outside project. Two in particular come to mind: A repair needed on a boat I had just acquired. He fixed the toprail and refused any compensation. And every Halloween, he helped me untangle my huge spider web.
He always kept his yard like a show place, trim and neat and with so many flowers. We were all proud of his place.
When he moved away I cried. I have missed him. There will always be a place in my heart for my friend Alan.
I remember when I was very young, back before Uncle Alan converted the garage, that he would come home in his big blue pickup truck, wearing tall rubber boots or hip-waders, carrying clam rakes and bushel baskets of clams and oysters. And I remember that after a Saturday afternoon of playing in fields and woods with Alan Louis, I would have dinner with them (always hamburgers, from what I remember) and how important it was to say grace and give thanks before we ate together.
We were sad to learn of Alan's passing. We have fond memories of his enthusiastic worship at Grace Lutheran Church on Sunday and his sharing of scrambled duck eggs with us during the summers spent in Mastic Beach. We wish to express our deepest sympathy to all his family.
