Alan Brian Hopkins, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated servant to others, passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born on March 12, 1962, in Memphis, Tennessee, Alan graduated from Rosemark High School and went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering from Memphis State University. He began his career as a firefighter and paramedic with the Memphis Fire Department, where his passion for helping others took root.
Inspired to further his service in healthcare, Alan later graduated from nursing school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He earned his Ph.D. and became a respected nurse practitioner, known for his compassion, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to patient care.
Alan was married to the love of his life, Cynthia Hopkins, for 33 ½ wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, Ashley (Ben) Garcia and Andrew (Alejandra) Hopkins, who carry forward his legacy of love and service. Alan was a proud and devoted grandfather to Noah, Aliya, and Ava. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Leland (Bree) Hopkins as well as his sister, Sharon (Gary) Sloan, whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering support. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews that he loved deeply.
A man of many talents and interests, Alan was a licensed pilot with both land and sea plane ratings. He had an adventurous spirit and a heart for missions, participating in numerous medical mission trips around the world to provide care and share the Gospel. Alan was also a passionate entrepreneur, always dreaming big and finding new ways to make a difference.
Alan will be remembered for his generosity, humility, and the countless lives he touched through his work, faith, and kindness. His family finds great comfort in knowing that because of his faith in Jesus, Alan is now in heaven—whole, at peace, and in the presence of his Savior.
He will be deeply missed, but his life and testimony will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Chapel 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 4th followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.
