Dr. Gerry Martin, 84, of Coleman went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 24, 2016. Dr. Martin was born March 5, 1932 in Deland to Aubrey B. and Pearl (Puckett) Martin. He was a retired professor from the Tennessee Temple University Read Obituary
I was going through so books recently and came across"Lights and Shadows". Memories took me back to Tennessee Temple and classes with Dr. Martin and several classes with Mrs. Martin. I'm thankful that God's plan for my life included the Martins. I cherish memories from Temple and especially those including Dr. and Mrs. Martin. May God bless you. Dr. Gerald Martin was my school teacher at kings academy in wildwood fla in the early 80 with his wife. They both were wonderful people, and very very kind!

My first memory of Dr. Gerard Martin was in 1950 when he came to Immanuel College of the Bible in Indiana, Pennsylvania, along with his blind parents, Dr. & Mrs. A.B. Martin. I was a senior to Gerard by 1 1/2 years and a student at Immanuel. Gerry was a young professor, but much loved and respected by the student body and other teachers. Immanuel later moved to the Wheeling, West Virginia area, and within a few years, the Martins moved on to Tennessee Temple.
As long as I live, I will have lovely memory and high respect for all the Martins, including you and your family.
I began pastoring at a Baptist church after 1 year of training at Immanuel College.
I know how you miss your loved one. I, also, saw my wife, Lois, breathe her last as she went to be with the Lord on July 9 of this year. You are in my prayers.

I have so many fun thoughts of the times I spent with you all at your home. You all were like a second family and Andrea was my"big" sister. I am blessed to be the recipient of a few poems and limericks from your dad. We used to talk about books, language, old movies in the kitchen or around the table. I loved to hear your dad play the piano and sing songs of worship. His prayers are a conversation with God. I'm so glad Jerry is at Peace. His struggle is over and now begins his joy in his new body. Now he is using his voice to worship the Lord he loved so much. I know the lonely times ahead you will be facing, but I also know that you go on and they go with you, in who you are and how you live each day. May the Lord bless you all and keep you close to Him. One of my fun memories is one of my fondest memories, Gerry, is when we celebrated Andrea's birthday and for the dinner prayer we all sang the Doxology! It was a great time. I know there are no words to take the grief away, but I do want you and Andrea and John know that you are in my prayers. I truly understand the feelings you have now and the ones to come.
