I was fortunate enough to work with Paul at GSK. He was my partner for many years in the Oncology division. Even though Paul had not been working for years, I still have people ask me how Paul is. This shows the impact he had on those around him. I am blessed to have known Paul and shared many fond memories with him at GSK. Deanna, I will be praying for you and your family during this difficult time. RIP Paul.
Dee-Anna I have never met you but do send my sympathy to you and your family. I grew up in Bristol, TN and attended Paperville Baptist Church where his wonderful parents played an important part in my life. His father Paul was our wonderful kind and gentle minister who led me to Christ. His dear mother was a wonderful friend for many years as well. Harold's strong faith was inspired by his humble, true Christian parents that I had the good fortune to know. I knew both Harold and his brother Lloyd as youngsters. I saw Rev. and Mrs.Doering's faith at work when Lloyd was killed in Viet Nam. I can still see Rev. Paul Doering kneeling at our communion table and with such a sincere voice as he prayed before serving us communion. I am grateful for growing up in that little country church and knowing the Doering family. I am glad my friend Anne Hamed called to tell me about Harold's passing. God's blessings of comfort to you and yours.

Uncle Paul was on the grill at the family Memorial Day picnic the first time I met him! His presence and laughter made me feel like family from the start. Dee-Anna, Just wanted to express my sincere condolences to you and the family at this sorrowful time. Since we're such new friends and Paul has been in the last stages of his illness the past year, I've never had the opportunity to meet him. After reading his obituary here, I see that I certainly missed knowing a wonderful man who made such a contribution to society. May God give you strength when yours is gone, and may His grace and mercy carry you through the coming days. You and your family are in my prayers. Fix your eyes on Him and He will keep you in perfect peace (Is. 26:3).

Paul was a good friend, husband, and father. He worked hard and was very successful as a pharmaceutical sales professional. He was the "salt of the earth"--solid and faithful and often smiling. Like us all he had his struggles (losing his brother in Vietnam) but he carried on and led an interesting life. When he became disabled at the end of his life, he was protected by his loving wife, Dee-Anna. He was the love of her life, and together they shared a deep faith in God. I'm sure he is in God's loving hands now.
