Brother Powell and family- what a joy it was to know Mrs. Powell. She taught me alot as I was growing up, but most of all she loved me as one of her own. I will always cherish the many happy times I shared with you all, especially right after my Daddy died. You were all so kind to us and made the loss a little easier. I love you all and count it a blessing to have been able to call Mrs. Powell my friend.##imported-begin##Angie Hatcher Cole##imported-end##

It was in 1962 that I met Catherine Powell. She took a young bride under her wing and taught me to cook, pick and can vegetables and make her famous pepper relish. She mothered me when I became a mother for the first time. We shared special times when she had Nanette and I had Jerry a short time later. Even though our lives carried us in different directions, I've always compared every one my pastor's wives to Catherine Powell - she was tops every time. Her life was her testimony. I am sure she has impacted many others as she has me. Brother Powell and family, may you be comforted by knowing that Sister Powell made her calling and election sure. She ran her race of life with dignity and respect. May God Bless You!##imported-begin##Shirley Crews##imported-end##
