I was his first wife (P. Joise), and together we had a son, who is now 27 years old. although our marriage didn't last, we remained friends and did share many good times. On the day I got engaged, he took Mark aside and told him, "If you ever hurt her, I'll f**king kill you!"
That's how close we stayed! I never stopped loving him.
We will miss him greatly!

Melvin was an intelligent, witty and humorous man. He was an extrovert and only felt truly alive when he was providing for his family or helping another in need. Mel was a good friend, a great listener and the first to offer any help he could provide. He was a kind person and would be the first to tell you if you were wrong, but he would also be the first to tell you, your faults were okay- to do better in your life. Mel could be hard - but he was soft. He was a great friend to me. If he was angry, please forgive him. As he got sicker, the less he could do. The less he could do, impacted his personality. He was a wonderful man and I will miss his friendship, his witty remarks and his direction in my life. Ride high, wings spread - visit me if you can. No more pain my dear friend. I will see you again.
