I met Mindi when we returned to OAG back in early 2006. It didn't take long to know she was a woman of passion for her Savior, Jesus Christ, and that she was very dedicated to her church family. Neither did it take long to realize that she would shout it from the rooftops, without reservation (WORD!) Mindi and I were both in the choir and when we realized that both of us could do better on the tenor part, that's where we ended up, in the tenor section, standing side by side. We had fun, learned a lot about each other, she knew special things about me and was always there with a comforting word when I was sad, or a kleenex, or just a reassuring touch. She loved her girl, Liesel, and would be so excited and bubbling over to know she would soon get to see her. She made EVERY outfit that I wore in the choir performances, and I had several over the years. She never wanted money for her work, it was her mission. However, I would tell her, okay, if not for you I must contribute to, YOUR MISSION, because that is MY MISSION. That, she would accept. And she had a little bakery in her house. She made the absolute best, most yummy, cheesecakes. ALL kinds of flavors! Cookies, cakes, soups, turkey, biscuits and gravy, and on and on. She loved the youth and did so much for them. I don't think her Sunday school class ever went home hungry on Sundays. Always breakfast or some type of sweets, etc. They are going to miss, Ms. Mindi. I could go on and on about this woman, I loved her for who she was, and she loved me the same. She called me friend, and that meant everything to me, because I knew she meant it. I thank God he let her find, and marry the love of her life, Peter Hawblitz. They got to spend two beautiful years together. God knows I will miss this never shy, always outspoken, caring, precious lady. RIP dear Mindi, you have fought the fight, and won. Victory is yours now, and I WILL see you soon.
